Munro Beach Track

Munro Beach Track is a short but rewarding walk through lush coastal forest on the wild West Coast, leading to a secluded black-sand beach where you might spot the rare Fiordland crested penguin. The track offers a genuine slice of untouched New Zealand, with the roar of the Tasman Sea never far away.

• Fiordland crested penguins: The main draw – from July to March, these endangered penguins come ashore to nest. Keep your distance and use the viewing hide.
