Mount Aspiring National Park is a rugged wilderness of glaciated valleys, alpine peaks, and ancient beech forests, centred on the iconic 3033-metre Mount Aspiring/Tititea. Part of Te Wāhipounamu – a UNESCO World Heritage site – this park offers some of New Zealand's most dramatic and less-trodden landscapes, perfect for adventurous travellers seeking solitude and raw natural beauty.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Dedicate at least two to three days to appreciate the park properly. Day-trippers can do the Rob Roy Glacier walk or a short stop at the Blue Pools, but to experience the backcountry – like the Gillespie Pass or French Ridge Hut – plan for three to five nights. The best months are November to April, when snow is less of a factor on higher trails.
