New Zealand's first botanic garden, established in 1863, is a verdant sanctuary in the heart of Dunedin. Sprawling over 28 hectares on the slopes of Signal Hill, it offers a serene escape with themed gardens, a native bush section, and a duck pond. The rhododendron dell and herbaceous border are highlights, while the aviary and glasshouses add to the charm. It's a place where locals stroll, students study, and travellers find a moment of peace.
