Perched high above the lush rainforest canopy, the West Coast Tree Top Walk offers a unique perspective on New Zealand's untamed wilderness. This gentle, wheelchair-accessible walkway takes you 20 metres up among ancient rimu and kamahi trees, with the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps as a dramatic backdrop. It's an immersive experience that brings you face-to-face with the forest's intricate ecosystem, from delicate ferns to the calls of native birds.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors spend about 45 minutes to an hour walking the loop and taking in the views from the tower. It's a great stop to stretch your legs during a drive along the West Coast, and can be easily combined with a visit to nearby Franz Josef or Fox Glacier for a full day of nature experiences.
