This easy loop introduces you to the raw beauty of New Zealand's Southern Alps, with interpretive signs explaining the unique flora and geology. The track meanders alongside the tumbling Dobson River, offering glimpses of snow-capped peaks and the thunderous roar of waterfalls. It's a perfect introduction to the park's wilderness for families and casual walkers.

Suggested Time to Spend

Allow 30–45 minutes for the 1.5 km loop, plus extra time to soak in the scenery or snap photos. The walk is flat and well-graded, making it a quick stop on a road trip or a gentle warm-up before tackling longer trails. Pair it with a picnic by the river for a leisurely hour.
