Blenheim, the sun-drenched heart of Marlborough, is New Zealand's premier wine region and a must for any oenophile. Nestled at the top of the South Island, this laid-back town basks in more sunshine than almost anywhere else in the country, producing world-class Sauvignon Blanc. But beyond the vines, Blenheim offers a rich tapestry of history, art, and outdoor activities, making it an ideal stop on a South Island road trip.

Suggested Time to Spend
Blenheim itself can be explored in a day, but to truly appreciate the wine region, plan for two to three days. Spend your first day touring the wineries by bike or on a guided tour, your second exploring the aviation museum and local parks, and if you have a third, head out on a longer walk or drive to the nearby coast. The town makes a perfect base for a relaxed long weekend.
