It's a perfect family-friendly attraction that combines education with excitement, and it's conveniently located right next to Christchurch Airport.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Plan for at least 2–3 hours to fully experience the centre, including the Hagglund ride, storm room, and penguin feeding times. If you're a keen penguin fan or have kids who love hands-on exhibits, you could easily stretch it to half a day. The centre is a great stop on your way to or from the airport, or as a standalone outing from Christchurch city centre (a 15-minute drive or shuttle ride away).
