Kawarau Bridge, just east of Queenstown, is the birthplace of commercial bungy jumping. Since 1988, this historic 43-metre-high bridge has drawn thrill-seekers to leap over the turquoise Kawarau River, surrounded by dramatic schist rock faces and vineyards. Even if you don't jump, the viewing platform offers heart-pumping action and a quintessential Kiwi adrenaline experience.
