New Zealand's most popular Great Walk, the Abel Tasman Coast Track is a stunning 60-kilometer journey along golden-sand beaches, turquoise coves, and lush coastal forest. This track is a feast for the senses, with the scent of manuka and the sound of waves accompanying you as you traverse tidal estuaries and granite headlands. It's a must-do for any traveler seeking a classic Kiwi coastal experience.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most walkers take 3–5 days to complete the full track, but you can easily tailor shorter day walks from Marahau or Kaiteriteri. For a full through-hike, plan 4 days with nights at huts or campsites. If time is tight, a day hike from Marahau to Anchorage and back (via water taxi) offers a taste of the track's beauty. Allow at least a half-day for a short coastal walk and swim.
