Victoria Conservation Park is a vast wilderness area on the West Coast of the South Island, stretching from the rugged coastline to the Southern Alps. It's a paradise for hikers and nature lovers, offering dense rainforests, alpine meadows, and dramatic river valleys. The park is less crowded than nearby national parks, providing a true sense of isolation and raw New Zealand nature.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Dedicate at least a full day to properly explore the park's highlights. If you're keen on hiking, two days allow you to tackle Mount French and the Lake Kaniere Walkway at a relaxed pace. The park is best visited between November and March when the weather is milder and days are longer.
