Hokitika Gorge is a natural wonder on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island, famous for its impossibly turquoise water. The vivid colour comes from glacial flour suspended in the water, creating a surreal sight. A short walk through native forest leads to a swingbridge and viewing platforms over the gorge. It's a must-stop on the drive between Greymouth and Franz Josef Glacier.
