Truman Track is a short but spectacular bush walk on the West Coast, near Punakaiki, that leads you through dense rainforest to a wild, windswept beach. The track is well-maintained and offers a quick immersion into New Zealand's untamed nature, with the sound of the Tasman Sea growing louder as you emerge onto the sand.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Allow 30 minutes to 1 hour for the return walk, plus extra time to sit on the beach or watch seals. It's a perfect quick stop on a self-drive journey along the West Coast — best done at low tide when the beach is more accessible.
