Suggested Time to Spend
Two to three days is ideal for New Plymouth. Spend your first day exploring the city’s art galleries, Pukekura Park, and the Coastal Walkway. Use the second day for a hike in Egmont National Park, either the Pouakai Crossing (6–8 hours) or a shorter walk to Dawson Falls. A third day allows for a leisurely drive around the mountain or a visit to the nearby Surf Highway 45.
