This living river of ice offers an unforgettable encounter with the raw power of nature, set within the wild and beautiful West Coast region.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors spend one full day at Fox Glacier, which allows time for a heli-hike (around 3–4 hours) and a visit to Lake Matheson. If you're short on time, you can still do the terminal face walk (1–2 hours) and see the lake in half a day. For a more relaxed pace, consider staying two nights to also explore nearby beaches and walking tracks.
