Renwick

Renwick is a sleepy yet charismatic Marlborough wine village that punches well above its weight. Nestled between the Wairau River and the Richmond Range, it's the epicentre of New Zealand's most famous Sauvignon Blanc country. Unlike the busier town of Blenheim, Renwick offers a more intimate, bike-friendly wine trail where you can pedal from cellar door to cellar door past rows of vines and ancient oaks. The pace is slow, the hospitality warm, and the landscapes are postcard-perfect.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Renwick deserves a full day (or two if you're a keen oenophile). Most visitors spend a morning cycling the wine trail, stopping for lunch at a vineyard restaurant, and then exploring the museum or river walk in the afternoon. To truly savour the region, base yourself in Renwick for two nights and use it as a springboard to explore the wider Marlborough region.
