With over 50 kilometres of hand-crafted trails winding through pine forest and open tussock, it offers everything from flowy beginner loops to technical, root-infused black runs. The park is a must-ride for any mountain biker exploring New Zealand's South Island, with a friendly, community vibe and spectacular alpine views at every turn.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Plan for a half-day (3–5 hours) to ride a selection of trails and soak up the atmosphere. If you’re short on time, a two-hour loop on the green and blue trails gives a satisfying taste. For keen riders, a full day allows you to explore the entire network, including the longer Conical Hill climb and descent. The park is open year-round, but check trail conditions after rain – clay sections can become slippery.
