Fiordland National Park

Fiordland National Park is a raw, untamed wilderness of towering fiords, ancient rainforests, and cascading waterfalls. Part of the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage site, this is New Zealand at its most dramatic. The park is a sanctuary for nature lovers and hikers, offering some of the planet's most epic landscapes.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Dedicate at least three to four days to explore Fiordland National Park properly. Spend the first day visiting Milford Sound (a long but scenic drive from Te Anau), the second on a Doubtful Sound cruise, and the third tackling a section of the Milford Track or another day hike. If you're a keen tramper, allow five to seven days to complete the full Milford Track or combine shorter walks.
