Te Papa Tongarewa, meaning 'container of treasures,' is New Zealand's national museum and a world-class cultural experience in the heart of Wellington. This six-level, state-of-the-art museum tells the story of Aotearoa through immersive exhibits, from Maori taonga (treasures) and natural history to art and interactive science. It's a must-visit for anyone wanting to understand the country's unique identity, and entry is free.
