Castle Hill is a surreal landscape of massive limestone outcrops and boulders, scattered across a grassy basin like the ruins of an ancient fortress. This otherworldly site, located on the South Island's Great Alpine Highway, is a playground for climbers, photographers, and anyone who appreciates nature's oddities. The rock formations, worn smooth by millennia of wind and water, glow golden in the late afternoon light, making it a must-stop on any West Coast road trip.
