Spend at least half a day driving through the valley to enjoy the scenery and stop at the main attractions. If you plan to ski or mountain bike, allocate a full day or more. For a relaxed visit combining the hotel, distillery, and a short walk, two to three hours is sufficient. The valley is often included as a scenic detour between Wanaka and Queenstown, adding about an hour to the drive.
